New Zealand Ethnic Social Services (NZESS) is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 2003 to provide critically needed social support services for individuals and families of ethnic community to create healthy families and thereby healthy community in New Zealand.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between the Ethnic cultures and New Zealand culture ,so that our clients fully understand and can make informed decisions and those involved, can gain a better understanding of client’s needs. We believes that violence and abuse is unacceptable for families, individuals and children and that a best practice service providing prevention, intervention and crisis management is to be provided by NZESS .
Safety of victims and children is the paramount consideration before NZESS staff works with the entire family and in particular, the perpetrator of family violence if NZESS is working with the Victim as well.We Create an environment where people feel comfortable to ask for assistance.We provide a free and confidential service to the Ethnic Community. Children have the priority for NZESS and also we believe it is the Family that impacts on the well-being of the country so, we use a combination of mediation, counseling, training and education formats for the individuals and families .
