NZ Ethnic Social Services is the only organisation in west Auckland that was stablished in 1996 and provides free
family social services to ethnic individuals and families. On average, our qualified staff and manager provide services to more than 800 clients a year for ethnic families in domestic violence situation, youth at risk, vulnerable children etcThe primary objectives of NZ Ethnic Social Services are to provide holistic social services to ethnic individuals and families in domestic violence situation, youth at risk, vulnerable children etc. NZESS provides “one stop shop “social services to the ethnic community to create healthy families and thereby, a healthy community.NZESS gives Services including support, advice, advocacy and education (including both individual and group) around family violence, Family and Criminal Court issues to Ethnic individual and families .
clients also benefit through our knowledge of the dynamics of family violence along with our knowledge of cultural issues. We can explain New Zealand law and the possibilities for both victim and perpetrator. We can address issues from a cultural perspective and build engagement of our clients due to their feeling that we understand. We are often able to speak in the first language of the families whom we deal with.
