New Zealand Ethnic Social Services (NZESS) is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 2003 to provide critically needed social support services for individuals and families of ethnic communities to create healthy families and thereby healthier community in New Zealand.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between the Ethnic cultures and New Zealand culture ,so that our clients can better understand and can make informed decisions . We believe that violence and abuse are unacceptable for families, individuals and children and that a best practice service providing prevention, intervention and crisis management provided by NZESS, is of vital importance .
Safety of victims and children is the paramount consideration before NZESS staff as well as begin to work with an entire family .This is especially so where we work with the perpetrator of family violence as well as the Victim .
We Create an environment where people feel comfortable to ask for assistance. We provide a free and confidential service to the Ethnic Community. Children are the first priority for NZESS . We also believe it is the Family that impacts on the well-being of the nation. So, we use a combination of mediation, counselling, training and education formats for the individuals and families we work with.
